Jesus was arrested, mocked, beaten and led to the cross to be crucified.
Because of the crucifixion we have been set free, and so on Good Friday we gather as the sun rises to recall the events of the crucifixion and to give thanks to Jesus for His sacrifice.

“The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.” - Mark 9:31
